2015 Annual Meeting

The SSMC Annual Meeting and Reunion will be held this year on Saturday evening, November 14^th, at Lonesome Lake Hut in Franconia Notch.  We have reserved the hut in its entirety, 48 bunks in total, for the night.  The price per person is $55 which includes dinner, a bunk, coffee and tea for the evening and a wine, cheese and cracker happy hour Saturday afternoon. (Bring something for a quick breakfast on Sunday.)

From now through September 18^th, reservations will be open only to current membership and one guest.  After September 18^th, reservations will be available to members, additional guests and former members on a first come first served basis.  To reserve your place send me an Email, including your guest’s name, and follow it up with a check for the total amount no later than September 10^th.  Send your check, made out to “Summit Sensations” to:  Keith Sullivan, 535 Edinburg Gap Rd., Edinburg, VA  22824

Plan your drive to the trailhead parking lot on the West side of Franconia State Park to arrive between 12:00 and 1:30 on the 14^th.  We will all be meeting and distributing food and supplies to anyone willing to help pack it in.  The hike is less than two miles with less than 1,000’ of elevation gain.  More details on Lonesome Lake Hut can be found at this link:

You’ll need a winter sleeping bag as the AMC does not provide blankets in the winter self-service season and the bunk rooms are totally unheated.

The schedule of events will look like this:

3:00 – 5:15:  Happy Hour

5:15 – 6:00:  Dinner

6:00 – 6:45:  Guest Speaker

7:00 – 8:00:  Annual Meeting

8:00 -10:00:  Two more Happy Hours

On Sunday morning we’ll have optional hikes to favorite Franconia Notch locations led by club leaders. Hope to see you at Lonesome November 14^th!
