We had a very successful workshop this past Saturday!! I am happy that all of your questions (thus far) were answered and that confidence in your map and compass skills was even greater. Your desire to continue to improve and have another activity has inspired me to plan an early-fall mini competitive event!!! (probably the first weekend in fall). I know many of you who were interested could not attend, but I look forward to seeing you at our fall event! This event would be fine for beginners as well!
There will be 8-10 points (targets) that will traverse a larger area and I will be sure to stash some nice surprise “booty” at each location. We would have to work in groups of 2-3 team members and teams could plan to tackle the course however they choose!! I would set up the course to ensure no team could complete the course in just the morning time period:) The day would have very structured schedule. For example:
- Meet and Greet
- Introduction and competition overview/rules
- Planning session
- Event Start (Morning)
- Mandatory Lunchtime at a designated location
- Event Start (Afternoon)
- Event Stop
- Dinner!!
We would obviously be sending this out to the entire membership, but if you could spread the word that would be fantastic!! THANK YOU all for your participation and/or interest to learning and improving!! Hope to see you all at the Glacial Travel Workshop at Ragged Mountain in a couple of weeks!!
Best Wishes and check out the pictures below,
