Workshop Lead: Zach Coburn
Participants: Patrick Murphy, Ben Litchfield, Nick Macomber, Per Frost
Thanks to Zach Coburn for leading our ice climbing workshop for the 2nd straight year! The event was held at Frankenstein Cliff in the White Mountains of New Hampshire on February 21st.
Focus of the workshop was on foot work, including having everyone climb with only one ice tool a few times to warm up. Another topic covered was various techniques for rounding over the top of ice bulges and how to position yourself properly to do so.
The last big point of emphasis was how to swing the ice tool and how to know when you’ve gotten a good “stick” vs. swinging in vain and in agony!
Check out the photo album, some great climbing and climbers!
