The 2016 SSMC GTW was a reminder, once again, of how little time it takes to forget the skills we need to safely navigate a glacier. With wonderful weather, participants, instructors, and workshop director (Thanks Keith!), we all refreshed our knowledge and learned another trick or two to help manage a crevasse rescue if (god forbid!) one ever happens to us. With several new members and nearly 25 participants this year, it was very encouraging to see not only the interest, but the care in preparation our members had when it comes to mitigating risk for a very serious hazard.
Thanks again for a wonderful workshop, we hope everyone took something away from it that they can put to good use someday.
Happy Climbing and try to avoid those pesky cracks in the ground!
