2017 Annual Meeting

The SSMC Annual Meeting and Reunion will be held this year on Saturday evening, December 2nd, at Lonesome Lake Hut in Franconia Notch. We have reserved the hut in its entirety, 48 bunks in total, for the night. The price per person is $55 which includes dinner, a bunk, coffee and tea for the evening and a wine, cheese and cracker happy hour Saturday afternoon. (Bring something for a quick breakfast on Sunday.)
From now through October 30th, reservations will be open only to current membership and one guest. After October 30th, reservations will be available to members, additional guests and former members on a first come first served basis. To reserve your place send an Email to either sherrymaxner@yahoo.com or lalexander@colby-sawyer.edu , include your guest’s name (if you have one), and follow it up with a check for the total amount no later than October 30th. Plan your drive to the trailhead parking lot on the West side of Franconia State Park to arrive between 12:00 and 1:30 on the 2nd. We will all be meeting and distributing food and supplies to anyone willing to help pack it in. The hike is less than two miles with less than 1,000’ of elevation gain. You’ll need a winter sleeping bag as the AMC does not provide blankets in the winter self-service season and the bunk rooms are totally unheated.

3:00 – 5:15: Happy Hour
5:15 – 6:00: Dinner
6:00 – 6:45: Jon Sykes, Local Legend and Rock Climbers Guide, and Author of “The Notches”
7:00 – 8:00: Annual Meeting
8:00 -10:00: Two more Happy Hours
