Ragged Mountain Road

We confirmed the location for the April 18-19 Glacier Travel, it is going to be held at Ragged Mountain Resort in Danbury, NH. Please send me an Email confirmation if you’d still like to attend. In the message please indicate any prior related experience you have. That includes other Glacier Travel training and actual glacier travel experience. If you are an experienced ice or rock climber, please indicate that as well.
The workshop will begin a 9 AM and finish up around 3 pm each day. You can get driving directions from the Ragged MT Resort website or by simply doing a google maps search for Ragged Mountain Resort, Danbury, NH. I recommend you don’t take the shortcut from Route 4 in Wilmot on New Canada Rd. It can be very muddy in April. When you get to the resort parking area come up the stairs, the main entrance between the two large buildings. When you get to the end of the walkway you’ll be able to see us.
You’ll need the following equipment: Ice Ax, harness, helmet, at least one locking carabineer. The club does have some of these items to borrow, so let me know if you need any so I can see if it is available. You’ll need a lunch or snacks, water, sunglasses, sunscreen and a small backpack.. Bring rain gear – you’ll need it for self-arrest practice and we will be outdoors all day. If you already have prussic slings, bring them. If you don’t, come to the workshop 45 minutes early (8:15) and we’ll have the cord you’ll need and we’ll show you how to make them. (the cord will cost about $6). Please bring additional carabineers, pulleys, slings, and other hardware used for crevasse rescue if you happen to have it.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Ragged on April 18th!
